Why SPCNT

Testimonials From Students

SPCNT has been an excellent place to study. It has opened so many doors for me and introduced me to the world of Rongoa Maori which I have been able to pursue further outside the College. Being able to study the first two years by distance was great and gave me the flexibility to work at my own speed and at times that better suited my other commitments. Third year face to face study is proving to be really valuable for forging bonds with other students the variety of different skills they have to share. Friends made at College will be a great asset in professional practice. Putting into practice the theory of the first two years is building my confidence and no doubt is great preparation for a fulfilling career in natural health. I look forward to maintaining the friendships I have made with both students and staff long after completing my degree.

I decided to go back to studying full time by distance learning so that I could still work when it suited me, and not have to study part time. The transition back to studying took a month or two, but I am now better organised and really enjoying the course.

Having a medical background has really helped with my learning, but I find the notes and textbooks very easy to follow, and have really enjoyed the course.

Corresponding by email/phone to tutors hasn't been too hard as I could email them in my time (sometimes midnight), as I came across areas that I didn't understand or needed some clarity. The weekend workshops are a great time to catch up with other class members, and then be able to communicate with them as well.
Anita.   studied two years by distance and attended college for third year, graduating at the end of  2008

I would like to say that having discovered that I can study part- time and by long distance has enabled me to start working towards a qualification in an area that I feel passionate about. I had often thought that I would never have the opportunity, working fulltime with four children I don't have time to attend classes, and considering the cost of travel and the time involved in travelling in Auckland it would not be an option. Now I can study in the evenings, and any questions I have are answered by E-mail or phone. I still have lots of study ahead of me but I am enjoying the learning very much."
