Asmita is a health researcher who earned her PhD in Public Health from Auckland University of Technology (Auckland, New Zealand). She has held research positions at several tertiary institutions in the Auckland region of New Zealand, where she has worked and published on a wide-range of health-related topics. Asmita has published in the area of physical activity promotion, gerontology, prostate cancer survivorship, and the utilisation of traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine (TCIM), focusing on acupuncture, traditional Chinese medicine, naturopathy, and herbal medicine.
