Sam (he/him) is a naturopath and PhD candidate at the National Institute for Complementary Medicine (NICM).
Sam has experience working in multi-modality clinics and currents run an online naturopathy practice. In his current practice he enjoys supporting clients with digestive concerns and chronic complex conditions such as MCAS, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and endometriosis. He is passionate about accessible and inclusive clinical practice for all, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent affirming care and provides practitioner education on trans and gender diverse healthcare.
Sam enjoys research and takes an evidence-based approach which also respects the knowledge gained through lived experience and community knowledge sharing. His love for research and passion to improve healthcare access for trans and gender diverse people led him to begin a PhD at NICM. This research looks at barriers to care for trans and gender diverse people with endometriosis. He is involved in multiple other endometriosis related research projects as a research assistant.
